چکیده

This study aimed to assess the antioxidant effects of rutin on methotrexate-induced hepatic oxidative stress. Wistar Albino rats (n=24) were separated into 4 groups: control group (C); methotrexate (M, 20 mg/kg, single dose) group; (R, 50 mg/kg/day, for fifteen days) and + [MR, (20 (50 days)] group. Rats sacrificed sixteenth day liver tissues removed. The glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), malondialdehyde (MDA), nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH), total (tGSH), vitamin C determined colorimetrically. Malondialdehyde increased decreased in M compared others (P<0.001). Total reduced both MR groups (P<0.05). An important decrease NADPH GPx (P<0.001) was observed. Nicotinamide R be higher than In this study, it might demonstrate that caused stress had Consequently, can suggested may useful attenuating side liver.

Rutin ameliorates methotrexate induced hepatic injury in rats.

PURPOSE To investigate the possible protective effect of rutin on methotrexate induced hepatotoxicity in rats. METHODS Twenty-two rats were divided into three experimental groups; Control-saline, Mtx, Mtx+Rutin. Hepatic tissue was taken for histological assessment and biochemical assays. Oxidative stress parameters malondialdehyde (MDA), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) and superoxide dismutas...

Rutin attenuates intestinal toxicity induced by Methotrexate linked with anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects.

BACKGROUND Methotrexate (MTX) is recognized as an anti-metabolite in cancer chemotherapy and is associated with various toxicities assigned to inflammation and oxidative stress. Rutin has been reported to have significant anti-inflammatory, antioxidant along with antiulcer properties. The present study was undertaken to corroborate the effect of rutin against MTX induced intestinal toxicity in ...

Diosgenin attenuates cardiac oxidative stress in streptozotocin- induced diabetic rat

Background and Objective: Chronic diabetes mellitus (DM) leads to cardiovascular dysfunction. Diosgenin is a natural steroidal saponin with cardiovascular protective potential. In this research study, the beneficial effect of diosgenin was evaluated on some markers of oxidative stress in cardia tissue of streptozotocin (STZ)-diabetic rats. Materials and Methods: Male Wistar rats (n = 28) were ...

Tetrahydrocurcumin Potentially Attenuates Arsenic Induced Oxidative Hepatic Dysfunction in Rats

Arsenic (As) compounds are reported as environmental toxicants and human carcinogens. Exposure to arsenic imposes a big health issue worldwide. Tetrahydrocurcumin (THC) is an antioxidative substance, which is derived from curcumin, the component of turmeric. In view of this fact, the purpose of this study was to delineate the ameliorative role of THC against arsenic-induced hepatotoxicity in ra...

Mulberry Leaf Extract Attenuates Oxidative Stress-Mediated Testosterone Depletion in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats

Background: It has been proposed that oxidative stress may contribute to the development of testicular abnormalities in diabetes. Morus alba leaf extract (MAE) has hypoglycemic and antioxidant properties. We, therefore, explored the impact of the administration of MAE on steroidogenesis in diabetic rats. Methods: To address this hypothesis, we measured the serum level of glucose, insulin, and f...
